Testing and Authorized Homologation Centre

ARAI, an autonomous national Institute, is the premier Automotive R&D, Testing and Authorized Homologation Centre of the country, set up by automotive industry in 1966.

The objectives of this Institute are automotive R&D, homologation testing standardization, training and technological information services, for Indian Automotive Industry and also Global Manufacturers. Presently, it has its own Laboratories in Chakan near Pune with advanced research facilities in I.C. Engines, Fatigue, Electronics, Materials, Green mobility, Intelligent vehicles, vehicular Safety etc. ARAI is poised for a large expansion with new advanced R&D and Testing facilities coming up near Pune by Year 2021. ARAI’s vision is to expand and become global R&D organization in the field of automotive engineering. ARAI has achieved excellent growth in the past with new avenues opening up. It has been serving the industry for all their homologation needs and has also started giving these services for other international certifying authorities.

Director
Who will be responsible for developing, articulating and implementing the mission, vision and goals of the institute. He/ she shall report to the Governing Council. The candidate should have supervisor leadership skills who can build on our past successes. He/ she is expected to guide, direct and motivate the team of Researchers and Engineers; represent the institute at High Level Committees in India and overseas, interact with Indian and global industry and perform all functions required for operating smooth, efficient and sustainable organization.

Age: Minimum 45 years (Age of superannuation 60 years)
Maximum: 5 years of residual service as on the date of vacancy w.r.t. date of superannuation.

Tenure and Emoluments - Appointment will be on contract basis for a period of 5 years in the new HAG scale of Rs. 182200-224100/- with other benefits and perquisites as admissible.

Qualification: The incumbent should be a professional, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electricals/ electronics), preferably Master’s Degree of higher, having proven track record and leadership capabilities at senior level in R&D in Automotive or Allied Engineering Fields

Experience: Minimum 20 years’ experience. Knowledge of State-of Art technology in Automotive sector will be an added advantage.
