Senior Oracle Data Base Administrator

The Madhvani Group, a leading professionally managed industrial/service group, with an annual turnover exceeding USD 500 Million, engaged in diverse operations, seeks to employ a Senior Oracle Data Base Administrator for its Sugar Factory in Uganda, which has implemented SAP ECC 6.0. This position has potential growth for the suitable candidate for working in an environment presently comprising of Oracle running on Solaris Sun servers and a company-wide VMware virtual desktop and server installation.

Senior Oracle Data Base Administrator
Reporting to the Director Finance, the incumbent will be responsible for:

• 24/7 support of database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance.      
• Performance monitoring, reporting and tuning of Oracle databases.
• Management and maintenance of back-ups and recovery procedures using RMAN, Data Guards, High Availability, Flash back Recovery Features & Flash back query.
• Installation and maintenance of database server, replication and client environment.
• Database security and access control.
• Provision of support and assistance to development team in the design, development, testing, tuning and implementation of database applications.

Qualification: The candidate should be a B.Tech. CS/IT degree.

Experience: 5+ years experience in Oracle 10G/11G DBA. Working knowledge and experience of SAP ERP, BASIS administration, patching/migration, Oracle utilities, design, development and administration of Oracle databases in data center environment with multiple OS managing Oracle RDBMS installation, administration, up gradation of 10G/11G, ASM and RAC is essential.
