High impact philanthropic initiative from the founding family of Vedanta

Anil Agarwal Foundation is a 'brain-child' of the founder of Vedanta Resources Plc, a LSE listed 15 billion USD natural resources group. The eponymous institution will be dedicated to 'giving'. The founder has decided to pledge 75% of his wealth to philanthropy. Hence the scale of operations will be quite unprecedented. The foundation would employ the best talent at the leadership roles as well as in the operating roles drawn from reputed corporates and global social institutions.

The foundation will work alongside governments and multilateral agencies, initially directed at the Indian populace at the bottom-of-the-pyramid, and extending it to parts of Africa. The mission is to deliver high-impact economic and social programs in areas of poverty alleviation, healthcare, education, and women & child development. These programs will dovetail with the broad vision which the Government of India is articulating in terms of social development, particularly in areas of nutrition, health and sanitation.

We need an iconic leader who will be an emissary of the foundation and lend credibility by her/ his sheer track-record. We would like to invite accomplished leaders from corporates, government, multilateral agencies, consulting or financial firms.
