Chief Information Officer
The Position
Reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer, the chief Information Officer (CIO) will be a Group Exco member of the Bank and will be responsible for the design and execution of IT strategy and development of IT Policy for the KCB Group in Eastern Africa i.e. (Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Sudan, Tanzania and Burundi).

Job Profile:

• Provide the strategic and operational framework for the design, development and delivery of the Organization's information and technology systems to meet its strategic plan.
• Develop and maintain an appropriate IT Organizational structure that supports current business needs, whilst being able to accommodate future growth within the group, both regionally and internationally.
• Identify opportunities for the reliable, efficient and appropriate cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and in-house development.
• Develop and maintain overall framework of IS policies, standards and strategies that will empower business and people to deliver on its goals and deliver shareholder value.
• Champion the overall strategic direction of the IT Organization at Executive Committee and Board level.
• Define the priorities, objectives and targets, that underpricing what contributes to delivery of value to business and adjust IT governance standards and technologies aligned to global best practice sand standards.
• Lead strategic insight and overview on business case justifications and ROI analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
• Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders and technology implementations.
• Lead the identification and delivery of sustainable IT solutions (e.g. Green IT, E-Waste) to ensure compliance at all times,
• Direct the development and execution of an effective enterprise-wide it disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Establish Strategic vendor/ Services provider partnerships to maximize on economies of scale and remain current on ware.

• Experience in strategic planning and execution - with a track record of success
• experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-today management.
• Proven experience in IT planning, organization, development and successful project implementation and management principles.
• Excellent understanding and practical experience in project management principles.

Qualification: A University degree in the field of Information Technology, Engineering or related field. A Master's Degree in business, IT or other Professionals qualifications in Information Technology or relevant field will be an added advantage.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years IT experience in senior level Information technology or Enterprise Operations, managing and/or directing an Enterprise Wide IT Operations. A Minimum of 5 years practical work experience in a large regional banking/ corporate sector at senior management positions
