SME Rating Agency of India Limited (SMERA), India's first and only rating agency to focus on the MSME segment in India, is a joint imitative of Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Dun & Bradstreet Information Services India Private Limited (D&B) and leading public, private and foreign banks in the country.
SMERA has till date completed close to 20,000 ratings across sectors and geographies on a pan-India basis. SMERA has an all India presence with staff strength of over 250 employees. SMERA has obtained registration as a Credit Rating Agency from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEB) and has also received accreditation from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as an eligible external credit assessment institution (ECAI) under the Basel II guidelines, thus paving the way for SMERA to rate/ grade various instruments such as IPO, Bonds, security receipts, Bank Loan Ratings etc. The Company is also empaneled as an approved rating agency with the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. (NSIC) Under the Performance & Credit Rating Scheme for Small Industries, approved by the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India.
