The Fiji sugar Corporation Limited (FSC) is a public company with Government as the major shareholder. Located north-east of New Zealand in the South Pacific, FSC owns and manages the country’s four sugar mills and is responsible for milling the country’s entire sugar cane crop. The majority of the sugar produced is exported to the United Kingdom. FSC is in the process of restructuring its operations to be more production driven.
As part of this drive, a vacancy exists for a Project Engineer to handle its cogeneration plant installation and commissioning at its Labasa Mill on a contractual basis. The FSC is invited applications from competent candidates who can handle sugar mill co-generation projects independently. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring timely completion of the project.
Project Engineer (Power Plant)
Job summary
The Project Engineer (Power Plant) Position holder is to manage the project, coordinate detailed engineering and installation & commissioning of the Co-generation Plant equipments.
Key Responsibilities and duties include
Planning and execution of project
Quality of material and work executed
Safety and compliance with relevant standards
Timely completion of project
Qualification: Applications are invited from candidates who have graduated in engineering in mechanical or electrical discipline
Experience: 7-10 years experience in power plant erection and maintenance. Likewise a minimum 3 yea at supervisory level for erection and commissioning of sugar mill cogeneration projects. candidates shall have commanding knowledge in power plant engineering and outstanding communication skills and comfortable to use soft project tools. The successful candidate should be willing to relocate at short notice. This position is provided family residence status. Initial contract will be made for One year and may be extended to 3 year depending on performance. The successful candidate must have good written and oral English language skills.
