L & T Power’s new Piping Centre at Hazira (near Surat) manufactures critical piping spools for supercritical thermal power plants, and has plans to do so for the oil & gas, nuclear and fertilizer sectors. To leverage an array of emerging opportunities, we are looking for dynamic and highly-motivated professionals from Heavy Engineering industry for the following positions at our Piping Centre.

Head - Welding Engineering

Profile: Will head the Welding Engineering section and lead a team of engineers to support production. Job involves preparation of WPS for carbon and alloy steels, WPQ records, welder selection, training and qualification, providing necessary resources to minimize weld cycle time, handling P91/ P92 material, welding consumables specifications, testing of samples and brand approval, selection of welding equipment including mechanization of welding operations to minimize manual welding, introducing new processes/ technology, establishing welding processes, norms of consumption of welding consumables, welding output and quality norms to minimize repairs, monitoring welding quality.

Qualification: First Class BE/ B. Tech in Mech/ Production/ Metallurgy, with post-Graduated qualifications in Welding Engineering/ Metal joining

Experience: 12-15 years in Welding Engineering on power boiler manufacturing pressure vessels/ reactors, essential

Location: Surat

Salary: Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, and will not be a constraint for deserving candidates.
