Requires immediately for Electricity and Water Authority following:

  1. Head, Safety & Environment (P7)
    Degree in Mechanical Engineering from reputed University with minimum 5 years in similar field. Responsible for occupational Safety & Health within the Electricity & Water Authority and assist. The chief of Safety in all aspects related to risk management. Manage all personnel within his section, Develop occupational Safety, Health & Environmental Standards and maintain policies and codes of practice in accordance with accepted safety engineering and environmental principles and concepts, Develop and supervise risk assessment programmer designed to prevent or minimize the occurrence and consequences of industrial accidents and illnesses, cooperate with civil and engineering projects and other technical specialists in the formulation of safety engineering at the design stage of the project, Establish an Occupational hygiene programmer for monitoring environmental hazards, sets exposure standards and advise on protection and control measures.

  2. Head, Technical Support (P7)
    Degree Electrical Engineering from reputed University and with minimum 5 years of experience in similar field to manage, control, organize & provide technical expertise to the Technical support Group, responsible for all commissioning interface & planning functions and activities for transmission system up to 220 KV, organizes & coordinates interface activities with system control generation sections, distribution sections & high voltage consumers, oversees circuity outage scheduling & coordination, maintenance work planning & surveying works, regularly notifies & keeps the Chief informed about section's activities. Arranges preparation of monthly, quarterly & annual progress report, Evaluates transmission system upgrading, modification, reinforcement & alteration design involves for the new 400 KV transmission system.

  3. Sr. Electrical Engineer (P-6)
    Degree in Electrical Engineering from reputed University and with minimum 5 years of experience in similar field to study the requirement of installation, metering and advise the Head for improvement of installation, metering and advise the Head for improvement of installation, metering and advise the Head for improvement, to prepare flowcharts for installation and metering jobs, managing certification of domestic electrical installation equipments, approving drawings of the electrical installations at the design stage, advising consumers for the installation of electrical equipments such as ACB, MCCB, Isolator, metering panel in metering room etc., to arrange visits to the substations to inspect HV metering panel for installing HV meters, review wiring regulation to make inline to international standard, review installation & metering code of practice and prepare technical report or MRP & implementation of unit works.

  4. Electrical Engineer (P-5)
    Degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 4 years of experience in similar field to control the power output of the generators in order to ensure, secure & economic electricity generation to meet system demand, estimate the national power demand for 24 hours periods immediately ahead, carry out economic evaluation of optimal generation mix to meet the demand, subject to the guidelines of senior control engineer, utilize software programs to optimize generation scheduling & reduces costs, instruct start & shutdown of EWA generators as necessary to meet the demand at various periods & IPP generators as scheduled & approved by the senior control engineer.

For Geographic Information System (GIS)

  1. Head, GIS Operation
    Degree in Computer Engineering, preferably with project Management Certification with minimum 8 years experience in related Field (GIS Technology / Consultancy), knowledge in Information Technology, specifically in GIS / System Architecture, Application Development and Database Administration, Knowledge of of ArcGIS and Telvent - M&M products, Microsoft Office Suite, Database Administration, MS SharePoint, Web Technologies, Database Administration and Application Development tools and methodolgies, manage the ongoing critical operation of the enterprise GIS systems (24x7x365) and ensure the implementatiion of new GIS related projects, lead the integration implementations between the GIS and other IT solutions, set up a configuration management framework to support the data model updates, source code versioning, technical documentations and new requirements, manage and support all the activities associated with database administration, design specifications, hardware and software upgrade, application development, testing framework, deployment plans and data QA /QC, coordinate with the business unit to determine the impact of the new requirements on the system's performance and stability at the level of data, application, network, etc., prepare technical articles or papers to be presented in national and international conferences.

  2. Sr. Computer Specialist (GIS)
    Degree in Computer Engineering, preferably with Project Management / ITIL certification with minimum 5 years experience and knowledge in information Technology specifically in GIS, use of CASE tools, knowledge of ArcGIS and Telvent-M&M products, Microsoft Office, Suite, Database Manipulation (SQL queries), MS SharePoint, UML, to prepare proposals for new Geographical Information systems / Business Application projects by identifying and studying end-user requirements in terms of scope of work, hardware, software and training, analyze and-user requirements and translate them into functional specifications, perform GIS data manipulation, extraction and advanced geo-processing functions, Analyze GIS data and trends, and produce maps and reports as required, coordinate activities between different departments at EWA in order to support and enhance the GIS operation and resolve any GIS related issue, manage and coordinate specific project activities, Map all GIS related activities and projects using Sharepoint 2010.

  3. Computer Specialist (GIS)
    Degree in Computer Engineering with minimum 4 years experience with GIS software products (ESRI ArcGIS 9.x, Telvent ArcFM 9.x), Proficiency in the development of web applications (Ajax, Silverlight, net...) on top of ArcGIS Server, knowledge of sharepoint server 2007 and 2010, strong knowledge of UML, to plan, develop, implement and maintain GIS applications for use by various EWA departments, and perform data analysis as required, Analyze changes and enhancements to the system and application software and determine the impact on the existing production system and operation procedures, assist in the design modeling, implementation, and maintenance of geospatial database, prepare software development plan by converting customer requests into technical specifications, Determine suitable functionality, interface, application programming language and technology platforms to be used to create an application that meets customer needs, execute periodical upgrading of the system and GIS package application software and properly plan the installation, implement approved standards and procedures for the installation, maintenance and usage of GIS software within EWA.

  4. Database Administrator (GIS)
    Degree in Computer Engineering with minimum 4 years experience and knowledge in information Technology (Microsoft and Unix Platform), ESRI GIS technology and database administration, knowledge in Oracle, real applications clusters (RAC), System and database administration, Geo-database admin, SharePoint admin knowledge of ArcGIS and Telvent-MRM products, ArcSDE, Oracle 10/11g. Citrix Metraframe, MS SharePoint 2010, to implement all the activities associated with Geo-database (ArsSDE) and Database Administration (ORACLE for GIS and SQL Server for Sharepoint),ensure backup and recovery procedures are implemented on any of the GIS databases and Application Servers using HP Data Protector, Perform GIS version management such as creating, deleting, posting and reconciling of users versions, administer both Windows (Server 2003-2008) and Unix platforms (HP UX 11i) and maintain the existing data Cluster, implement activities associated with Citrix configuration and administration.

  5. Database Administrator (PSD)
    Degree in Computer Engineering with minimum 4 years experience, to develop, implement and maintain efficient and secured Database Management System for Purchasing & Supply Directorate, identifies the structure and organization of the data to be stored in the database, and ensures that these are appropriate for the predicted access patterns, manages and controls physical and logical views to ensure a high level performance of the Database Management System, develops and designs fields, relationships and access methods under the Database Management System.

For Emergency & Distribution

  1. Sr. Electrical Engineer (P6)
    Degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 4 years experience and responsible for managing the day to day activities of the fault & emergency repair works of the Electricity Distribution Network & substations, formulate emergencty fault repair programmer in order to minimize the outages, study the various types day to day faults & draw out a suitable programmer to attend & rectify the same systematically, Ensure the plans have been carried out according to the programmer through periodical reports from the concerned Engineers & amend any irregularities, prepare manpower & financial requirements for the Unit & administrative & technical control of the staff with regard to their performance, discipline, training & other allied matters, to be a Sr. Authorized person & required to issue PTW, SFT & LOA certificates to the concerned after carrying out necessary switching operations in the Distribution Network, ensures proper standards of safety for all aspects of work under his control, ensure unit has sufficient and right calibers and test equipments to handle fault locations, implement the maintenance management system (Cascade) on the Distribution network and satisfy all the corrective actions, control the budget.

  2. Electrical Engineer (P5)
    Degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 3 years experience in identification & location of various cable faults in the Electrical Distribution Network, to carry out fault isolation in coordination with DCC & others concerned, carry out switching on the 11 KV network including issue of work / test permits & limitation of access as & when required, select efficient electrical contractors to carry out the maintenance & reinforcement works, locating the fault with the help of mobile test & handling over to the concerned for necessary repairs, ensures that the test van & the testing equipment are kept in good working conditions throughout to meet any emergency dobs at any times, assists other directorate, utilities & HV consumers in location of HV & LV faults as and when required, carry out corrective, proactive and planned preventive maintenance of the Distribution, network, including street lights, substations, switching stations, overheads and underground networks and low voltage systems.

  3. Sr. Electrical Engineering Technicians (G9)
    Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 3 years experience to carry our fault location on 11 KV & LV cable faults, to assists in preparing work programmer & arrange the drawings for location of faults on 11 KV & LV vales, should be senior Authorized person to be able to issue LOA, PTW & SFT certificate, to carry out switching on HV & LV systems, connect and remove stand by generators to customers efficiently, to locate HV / LV cable faults using appropriate techniques and identify the cables & supervise & guide the fault location staff, supervise the electrical contractors work to meet the best working & safety standard and take all relevant measurements.

  4. Electrical Engineering Technicians (G8)
    Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 2 years of experience to assists St. Tech. In carrying out his duties, should be Authorized or Senior authorized to be able to receive or issue permits in order to work on HV, Overheads & Underground Circuits, to carry out switching operations on distribution HV & LV, network, Connect & Disconnect Standby generators efficiently, supervise the electrical contractors work to ensure compliance of EDD standards & take measurements & process invoices accordingly.

  5. Electricians (G6)
    ITI with minimum 3 years of experience to carry out maintenance work for overhead & underground and Substations equipments to customers, to carry out first visits to Emergency repairs work connect & disconnect standby generators efficiently and carry out all related work, should be a competent person, to prepare the HV & LV valves of Distribution network for fault location identification & for tracing the touch, prepares the LV cables & assists Lead Electrician to located the fault, assists the lead Electrician to carry out all works delegated to him, carries out switching operations on the LV system & OFS, repairs fault to make all kinds of joints & terminations on HV & LV networks, Overheads and underground and street lighting, spike & cuts the LV cable as required, keep substations and switching stations clean and tidy and carry out the necessary electrical repair, carry out Patrolling on Overhead lines & Street lighting poles.

  6. H.V. Drivers (G5)
    Secondary school certificate or equivalent with minimum 5-7 years experience and should have GCC valid driving license, preferably Bahrain, driving experience of Trailer, Trucks shovel, Dumper and other heavy earth moving equipments, able to operate hydraulic power arm, attached with heavy vehicle to load and unload heavy equipments and materials. Able to read and write English.

Employee in position No. 1-12 will receive a tax free lump sum salary includes all allowances in two years initial contract renewable upon mutual agreement (salary includes housing allowance, travel tickets, transport, children education, etc.) other benefits include 42 calendar days annual leave, entitled to use without charge the full range of free medical and health services provided by ministry of Health, air ticket & air cargo services at the beginning and end of contract.

Employee in position No. 13, 14 and 15 will receive a tax free negotiable salary depending on qualification and experience, two years initial contract renewable every two years upon mutual agreement, benefits include travel tickets and free medical treatment in Ministry of Health hospitals. Incumbent will also receive an annual gratuity at the end of each calendar year, housing allowance, air cargo service at the beginning and end of contract. Other benefits include 42 calendar days leave and any other allowance that will be determined by the employing Authority following successful selection.
