Atomic & Molecular Physics
Associate Professor & Assistant Professor

Eligibility: First Class master degree & Ph.D. in Physics (with nanomaterial synthesis and characterization time of flight mass spectroscopy/ ultrafast spectroscopy/ Non-linear optics/ nano-photonics)

Manipal Advanced Research Group is engaged in research in the field of theoretical atomic physics as well as R & D in the nuclear sciences including heavy ion physics/ physics of the thorium nuclear fuel cycle - an important future energy source for India.

Designation: (1) Ph.D. in nuclear or reactor physics with familiarity in contemporary experimental methods, computational techniques & modern computer languages (2) PhD. in nuclear physics with familiarity in contemporary experimental methods in accelerator based physics, instrumentation and programming. The candidates will have an opportunity to develop a state-of-the-art nuclear physics lab, contribute to advances in accelerator based research & participate in international collaborations (3) PhD. in atomic physics with strong computational skills & 3 years postdoctoral experience with familiarity in contemporary areas including modeling of many body systems. The candidates will have an opportunity to participate in the Marie Curie scheme under the FP7 programme by the EU. Candidates are requested to provide 3 references and highlight research experience in their applications.
