Sugar Industry in East Africa
- Chief Engineer - 1 Post
The incumbent shall be a result oriented team player and shall report to the General Manager/ Managing Director and will be responsible for all technical operations and efficient functioning of the sugar plant and equipment. Specific Duties and Responsibilities
This will involve engineering development, projects, preventive, predicative and breakdown maintenance both mechanical and electrical, timely procurement of spares and consumables, upgrading of machinery and training of technical staff. Also the candidate shall have knowledge design plan, execute and operate biogases based co-generation in sugar industry.
Qualifications and Personal attributes
Applicants should be Mechanical Engineering degree holder, preferably with additional qualification in Sugar engineering and having Boiler proficiency certificate. He should have 15 years of multi-disciplinary engineering and technical experience in a sugar factory, of which 5 years should be as Chief Engineer or Technical Manager. The incumbent also having experience of sugar projects from feasibility to completion in a sugar plant of minimum 2500 TPD crushing capacity would be preferred.
- Chief Electrical Engineer - 1 Post
The incumbent should be well versed with project planning, execution, resource planning, budget projections apart from day to day electrical maintenance activities in a modern sugar plant with co-generation facility and grid export. He must be conversant with all the aspects of electrical engineering in particular with sugar industry and co-generation with high pressure boiler of minimum 85 bar ata equipped with all modern control systems with DCS environment.
He should have analytical problem solving capabilities. He should be self motivated, hard working result oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
Graduates with minimum 15 years of experience in which at least 5 years should be at a senior position can apply for the above mentioned post.
- Electrical Engineer - 1 Post
The incumbent should have hands - on experience in a modern highly automated power plant with high pressure boiler of minimum 85 bar ata equipped with all modern control systems with DCS environment. He should have through knowledge of the power plant safety systems and fully conversant with both LT and HT switch gears and equipments. He will be leading a team of local technicians and supervisors. He should be through with modern AC and DC drives and motors of both low and medium voltage of ABB and Siemens makes and should be capable of working independently at site.
Graduates with a minimum 6 years experience or Diploma holders with minimum 10 years experience can apply for the above mentioned post.
- Civil Engineer - 1 Post
Applications are invited for the position of a Civil Engineer. The selected candidate will manage and control the erection of new sugar plant with co-generation installation activities, for an effective and efficient civil machinery performance. Specific Duties and Responsibility
- Develop a mill erection, mill expansion, co-generation installation and maintenance master plant for the company.
- Manage all civil equipments for the company so as to maximize their productivity and efficiency.
- Supervision and management of personnel under his jurisdiction.
- Keep, update and produce civil maintenance jobs and related expenditure periodic records.
- Monitor and supervise all contracted factory erection projects with collaboration with civil consultants.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering
- At least ten years working experience in a similar position in a sugar Industry with a co-generation plant.
- Computer literacy in MS-Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Quick books, Auto-CAD etc.)
