Under the close guidance of the Programme Manager, Polio, UNICEF Patna, the staff member will be responsible for the day to day coordination of the polio Social Mobilization Network (SMNet) team contracted out to an outsourced agency to ensure efficient Pogramme planning, implementation and management as per the guidelines between UNICEF and the outsourced agency. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in management of public health programmes or other development programmes. University degree in the Social/ behavioral sciences (Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Health, Education), or other fields related to the work of UNICEF.

Programme Officer (Capacity Development) - Patna (Job Code-UNPOCD)
Under the close guidance of the Programme Manager, Polio, UNICEF Patna, the staff member will provide technical oversight and guidance to the training requirements of the Social Mobilization Network to promote effective social mobilization and behavior change communication in support of polio eradication. This includes designing and implementing innovative training curricula and materials for use by the Social Mobilization Network, assessing its effectiveness and provides management support to field-based training coordinators. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in coordinating, planning and guiding training programmes for front-lines workers, especially related to building interpersonal communication skills, community mobilization and community dialogue. Exposure to training related to field work for polio eradication, and other aspects of public health, is preferred. Post graduate diploma or other qualification in development communication and specialization in training.

Programme Communication Officer (POLIO) - Patna (Job Code-UNPCOI-02)
This post supports an intensified approach to polio communication and social mobilization effort in Bihar. Under the guidance of the Programme Manager, (Polio Coordinator), Patna, the incumbent will lead the strategic development of the state office's inputs to the polio eradication programme, specifically the Social Mobilization Network (SMNet). This will involve providing technical and managerial support to SMNet programme communication, inter-departmental coordination (District Administration, ICDS, PRI, NCC and NGOs) and inter agency coordination (Rotary, WHO-NPSP, etc) The incumbent will ensure that systems for IEC development and use are established. The incumbent of the post will be responsible for ongoing maintenance of the contracts and information tools. the incumbent will be the key liaison with social mobilization partners - Rotary, as well as with the Health, CDN, and WES sections, by way of expanding and consolidating communication and relevant technical support for polio eradication in High Risk Areas, as well as the transfer of lessons learned and best practices from polio communication to other health programmes, in particular Routine Immunization. The incumbent will provide guidance when strategic shifts to the programme communication strategy are required to respond to the epidemiological situation, and to identify research needs required to inform IEC material development. The incumbent is also responsible to manage media strategies and required consultants. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in public health communication, preferably the development of IEC materials, or other experience in the communication or advertising sector. Knowledgeable in working with graphic designers, translators and advertising agencies in the development of print and broadcast media. Field-experience in the use of IEC materials to promote behavior change and development. Demonstrated ability to develop evidence-based IEC materials. Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (POLIO) - Patna (Job Code-UNPCOME-02)
Under the close guidance of the Programme Manager, Polio, UNICEF Patna, the staff member will provide technical oversight and guidance to the monitoring, evaluation and data management requirements of the Social mobilization Network in support of polio eradication in Bihar State. This includes analysis of epidemiological & SMNet data from MIS and preparation of reports & technical presentations for use with partners, trainings & workshops. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in data analysis, programme management, and project advocacy related to polio eradication, preferably in Uttar Pradesh. Past experience in synthesizing data related to polio epidemiology, supplementary immunization activities and communication programming for polio. Post graduate diploma or other Qualifications in public health or epidemiology, data management, computer applications, or biostatistics. Sound knowledge of technical understanding of management information systems and various computer applications.

Programme Communication Officer - Lucknow (Job Code-UNPCOUC)
The jobholder works at the State and District level. They work under the daily supervision of the Programme Manager Polio, in close consultation with the Chief of Field Office, and with sector specific guidance from the Programme Communication Chief. The purpose of this Pradesh. The officer will be responsible for conceptualizing, supporting and monitoring/ assessing the implementation of activities focused on ensuring children from underserved communicates are at a reduced Rusk from polio. This will include the identification and mentoring of state and district partnerships, providing technical advice to district teams on underserved activities, liaising directly with prominent leaders from underserved communities, and Managing SSAs/PCAs and other financial resources related to the underserved strategy. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in social mobilization, and/or project management. Programme implementation experience in polio eradication is an asset. Experience in health communication an asset. Preference to people with work experience in a UN agency and work experience in UP. University degree in the Social/behavioural sciences (Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Health, Education), or other fields related to the work of UNICEF. Degree or training in media and communication with experience in strategic communication planning for behaviour development/ social mobilization /advocacy/ participatory communication/ development and production of creative materials/ research, training or facilitation of communication/ impact evaluation of communication interventions, an asset.

Communication Specialist (POLIO) - New Delhi (Job Code-UNCSP)
Under the guidance of the Chief, Polio Section, and with regular input and strategic direction from the Chief, Advocacy and Partnerships, responsible for the development, planning, implementation and monitoring of advocacy, partnership, communication and media strategies at the national level to support polio eradication in India. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 5 years progressive experience at a national and state level in advocacy, information and communication related to social development, preferably in the field of child health, immunization and polio eradication. Proven work experience in advocacy, information and communications, and networking with media agencies, government counterparts and civil society groups. Advanced university degree in communication, journalism, public relations or equivalent professional work experience in advocacy and communication combined with a relevant university degree in the social sciences.
