Admission to Post Graduate Programmes: 2008-09
Applications in prescribed forms are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following Programmes.
(A) M.Sc.
M.Sc in Forestry under the Department of Forestry.
(B) MBA
MBA under the Centre for management Studies.
(C) M.Tech.
Eligibility:
M.Sc in Forestry: 4 years B.Sc. in Forestry/ Agriculture/ Horticulture. 3 years B.Sc. in Botany & Zoology is also eligible to apply, but they will have to undergo additional one year Bridge Course.
M.Tech. in Farm Machinery & Power: BE/ B.Tech. or equivalent in Agricultural Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering.
M.Tech in Environmental Science & Engineering: B.Tech or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering/ Agricultural Engineering/ Mechanical Engg./ Chemical Engineering.
M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering: B.E./ B.Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science & Engineering.
M.Tech Power System Engineering: B.E./ B.Tech or equivalent degree in Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ Power System Engineering.
M.Tech Information Technology: B.E./ B.Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science & Engineering/ Electronics & Communication Engg/ Electrical Engineering/ Electronics & Electrical Engg./ Information Technology.
M.Tech. in Computer Integrated Manufacturing & Automation: B.E./ B.Tech or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering.
MBA: Bachelor's degree in any discipline recognized by Association of Indian University (AIU) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. For admission to M.Sc. and M.Tech. programmes candidates must have at least 60% marks in aggregate or CGPA of 3.25 out of 5.00 point scale for General category with valid Gate score. 5% marks will be relaxed to the candidates of SC/ST/PH category for all the programmes.
Admission Procedure: Candidates will be short-listed on the basis of Written Test and/or Interview for M.Sc. and M.Tech. Programmes and written Test followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview for MBA Programmes.

Reservation of Seats will be as per Cnetral govt. Rules.
Scholarship: The GATE qualified candidates admitted to the AICTE approved courses are eligible for Scholarship/ Stipend and book grants by the AICTE
How to apply: Information Brochure along with the Application form may be obtained from 28th April, 2008, either personally from the PG & R Cell of the Academic Section of the Institute on cash payment of Rs. 500.00 during Office hours or by sending a request along with a demand Draft of Rs.550.00 in favour of "Director, NERIST" payable at State Bank of India, Nirjuli (Code No. 9535). Last date of issue of the Brochure along with the application form is 23rd May, 2008. The filled-in form should reach to the Office of the undersigned on or before 30th May, 2008. The Application forms received after 30th May, 2008 will not be considered in any case. Detailed Information Brochure with the Application from may also be obtained from the Institute's Website http://www.nerist.ac.in. The downloaded Application form the Website must accompany a Demand Draft of Rs. 550.00 only in favour of "Director, NERIST "payable at State Bank of India, Nirjuli (Code No. 9535)
