Global Aluminium Technology is the technology support group for BHP Billiton's Aluminium producing assets in South Africa and Mozambique and is located at the Hillside smelter in the harbour city of Richards Bay.

In a company that promotes health, safety, environment and quality, you will be involved in technology optimisation and development as well as process control and improvements, trouble shooting and audits. You will be responsible for the measurement and evaluation of critical process variables and develop team s to be skilled and motivated. Extensive application of technology used in Reduction and Carbon respectively will launch you in this position. You will need to support the production departments to achieve consistent and superior results.
Success in this role demands an appropriate Engineering degree and fluency in English with 3-5 years' relevant experience in Reduction and Carbon respectively A proven track record in process optimization and an understanding of the principles of relevant smelter technologies is mandatory for a successful application. You will need to be a systematic thinker with good problem solving and strong analytical skills. You need good problem solving and strong analytical skills. You need to demonstrate a passion for Operating excellence (OE) in a project environment.
