1. Purpose
   Provide strategic, technical, operational and managerial support to UNICEF Assam in developing and implementing a Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) strategy aimed at fostering an environment at the family and community levels that would be conducive to accelerating child survival interventions, including polio eradiction and routine immunization in the state. The geographic focus would be on the Integrated District as well as districts which have low immunization coverage and are at risk of ongoing polio transmission.

2. Minimum Qualifications And Experience:
   • University degree in Social/Behavioural Sciences or equivalent (communication studies, anthropology, sociology, psyschology, etc) with emphasis on participatory communication and mass media theory and planning, social mobilization, participatory research, training, impact assessment and evaluation.
   • Two years' progressively responsible work experience in the planning and management of social development programming, including the practical application of communication planning and design to promote behavious and social change.
   • Experience of working on communication programmes in the Health and Development sectors a prerequisite; experience in the area of communication related to immunization, an asset.
   • Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of Assamese, an asset.
   • Knowledge of current theory and practice in the area of behaviour and social change, an asset.
   • Training/ experience in strategicv communication planning.
   • Proven ability to conceptualise, develop, plan and manage programmes, as well as transfer knowledge and skills.
   • Proven skills in communication, oral presentations, strong writing and analytical skills.
   • Ability to organize and plan trainings related to communication planning and implementation.
   • Computer literate in basic software programmes (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
   • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships both within and outsidethe organization, and with initiative and commitment to UNICEF's mission and professional values.
