Ciena Corporation, the Network Specialist having its development centers in U.S. & Canada has expanded its global presence by setting a research and development centre in Gurgaon. The 95,000 sq. ft. facility is Ciena's first core research and development facility outside North America. It is expected to employ more than 300 product development engineers by the end of next year.

Ciena's Gurgaon centre will focus on technologies such as storage & data networks, transport & switching networks, broadband access & network management systems. Full lifecycle product development in domains with ATM, Ethernet, Sonet/SDH, OTN, FibreChannel, Storage and Networking protocols. Ciena is looking for following telecom professionals:

Disciplines

• Senior Positions for Project/ Delivery Managers
  Technical co-ordination and project management of product design, development and test across all functional disciplines.

• Management Positions in Engineering
  Embedded and System Software, Systems Engineering, Engineering Services (Configuration management, Documentation, etc.), Product Testing (Integration & Validation).

• Senior Position in Product Line Management
  Expertise in optical transport, switching and storage extension market segments to interface with customers, drive roadmaps and collaborate with global sales team.

• Systems Engineers
  Define product/system, Architecture design and Test requirements.
  Additional opportunities for applicants with optical communications and optical systems engineering background.

• Embedded and System Software Engineers
  Design and development experience in pSOS, VxWorks, embedded Linux, SNMP, TL1, TCP/IP, GDMO, etc.
