To meet some short-term assignment at its Projects/ Stations all over India NTPC requires IT professionals in the following areas, on fixed tenure basis.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Computer Science or MCA, with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from Institute/ University recognized by AICTE/ AIU. No. qualification on the ground of its being equivalent to the one advertised shall be considered.

Minimum post-qualification experience/ experience profile: The candidate should have atleast 1 year post qualification experience in the following area:

1. Development/ debugging maintenance and operational support of applications in Ingres (preferred) or Oracle RDBMS environment in the areas of Operations and Maintenance, Materials Management, Project Management, Financial Management, HRD, Engineering and EIS applications
2. Working with latest technologies like Client Server, J2EE, CASE tools & GUI based front-end development tools etc.
3. Migration/ conversion of legacy systems to Oracle RDBMS etc.

The candidate of declaration of result/ issuance of marksheet shall be deemed to be the date of acquiring the qualification and there shall be no relaxation on this account.

Period of training or teaching experience will not be considered as experience as required for the post.

Upper age limit is 29 years.

Terms of Engagement
Engagement would be on a fixed tenure basis for a period not exceeding two years. During the period of engagement a consolidated monthly payment of Rs. 20,000/- to 25,000/- per month, depending upon the place of posting will be made in the first year.

Reservation exists as per Govt. directives. Upper age is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ ST candidates, by 3 years for OBC (Non creamy layer) candidates, by 5 years for PH candidates, by 5 years for candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.80 to 31.12.89, and as per GOI rules for XSM. Percentage marks requirement in the qualifying exam is relaxed to pass marks for SC/ ST/ PH candidates.
