Swasti (www.swasti.org), a health Resource centre will be conducting a state wide mapping study for the design of an HIV/AIDS programme. Three zonal teams will be set up in North, South and central Karnataka. The positions are short term 3-4 months. The period may be extended by mutual agreement based on project requirements. Fluency in Kannada, communication skills and documentation ability are key requisites for all positions. On completion of the research, based on merit, intervention programmes are likely to absorb staff working on this research.

Positions:

1. Zonal Manager: To lead team of 20-25 people simultaneously across 3 districts and participate in data analysis.

   Qualification: Post graduate preferably in social science, possessing skills in project management, fluency in English, atleast 5 years exp, in field level research of which atleast 2 in management of field teams.

   Remuneration: Rs 12,000-15,000/-per month

2. Field Supervisor: To conduct fieldwork leading a team of 10-12 persons.

   Qualification: graduate preferably in social science, excellent leadership skill, fluency in English, at least 3 years exp in grassroots works in NGO's or on research

   Remuneration: Rs 6,000-7,000/-per month

3. Field Worker: To undertake fieldwork.

   Qualification: PUC/graduate, willing to work extensively on the field on HIV related issues, exp in grassroots work in NGO's or on research preferred. Fresh graduates may also apply.

   Remuneration: Rs 3,500-4,000/-per month.

4. Database Personnel: Manager, Supervisor, Data entry persons. To coordinate with field team, supervise and enter data, provide output tables.

   Qualifications: Manager/Supervisor-post graduate, other graduate with exp in data entry/management, knowledge of MS Excel essential. MS Access and VB preferred. Ability to read Kannada and fluency in English essential.

   Remuneration: Rs 4,000-10,000/-per month.

Women and HIV positive individuals are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to those with experience in HIV-related projects. Position 1 and 4 will be based in Bangalore. All positions except 4 will require extensive traveling across Karnataka. Some positions have performance-based incentives.
